Collingwood’s youngest players will spend their second week of the 2015 pre-season on a training camp in Falls Creek.

All players with between one and four years of AFL experience will join the coaching and fitness staff in north eastern Victoria for a week that Football Operations Manager Marcus Wagner says will be geared towards both training and team development.

“Due to the terrain, the majority of the camp will be conditioning, and at times where we’re not doing weights or conditioning we’ll be doing some team development stuff,” Wagner explained to collingwoodfc.com.au.

“It’s a good chance to get away early to build the bonds within the group.”

It marks an opportunity for Collingwood’s batch of 21 players with less than five years in the AFL system behind them to spend time together ahead of the senior players’ return on 17 November.

“The beauty about Falls is that it’s within driving distance,” continued Wagner.

“It’s in Victoria, it’s easy for players to get to and it’s a beautiful place, with some great running tracks and some brilliant facilities that we can utilise.

“There will be weights, a little bit of footy, lots of running and team development.”
